12 Day Customized Vacation to Brazil

South America > Brazil

Brazil, the world’s fifth largest country, dominates almost half of South America. Covering more than five-million-square miles, it spans four time zones and exceeds the size of the contiguous 48 United States. Brazil’s territory displays great topographical variety, including mountains, plains, rainforests, islands, and 4,600 miles of Atlantic coastline—a seemingly endless stretch of white and gold beaches. Brazil shares inland borders with every South American country except Chile and Ecuador specifically, Uruguay to the south; Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia to the southwest; Peru to the west; Colombia to the northwest; and Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana to the north.

Accommodations

HOTEL EMILIANO SAO PAULO

Emiliano is Sao Paulo’s pioneering design hotel. Interiors are light and inviting, with original contemporary artworks and museum-quality furnishings by Brazil’s top designers. The ground floor features an orchid-studded vertical garden, bar, restaurant, and lounge. On the upper floors, a helicopter deck, indoor hot tub, lounge, and fitness center offer skyline views.

The 56 airy guestrooms feature large windows, crisp linens, marble bathrooms, and natural wood. Each is furnished with security box, minibar, bathrobes, sandals, and hairdryer. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is sophisticated and stylish, but what really sets Emiliano apart is the natural friendliness and courtesy of its staff. Their genuine hospitality and care make this our favorite hotel in Sao Paulo.

Emiliano Sao Paulo is located in the tony Jardins district, within easy reach of Paulista Avenue, Ibirapuera Park, and the city’s best restaurants and shops.

AWASI IGUAZU

Awasi Iguazu is a Relais & Chateaux lodge located within a private Atlantic Rainforest reserve, approximately 30 minutes by car from the Iguazu National Park gate. Each of the 14 villas is surrounded by jungle foliage, and each has its own plunge pool and sundeck. Other in-room amenities: mini-bar, bathtub, robes, slippers, ambient- temperature plunge pool, sundeck, and Wi-Fi. In-room massages can be arranged for an additional fee.

Privately-guided, tailor-made touring is also included. Upon arrival, you’ll meet with your guides to choose your excursions. Choose from one full-day (approximately 6 to 8 hours) or two half-day (2 to 4 hours) excursions per day. Airport transfers to either airport (IGR or IGU) are also included. Advance visas are required for entrance to Brazil.

HOTEL EMILIANO

Opened in 2018, Emiliano Rio de Janeiro has quickly become one of our favorites: a design-focused boutique hotel with a prime location on Copacabana Beach. Even the hotel’s exterior has won awards; the façade is a system of movable panels that creates an ever-changing sculpture. Inside, contemporary style blends with touches from Rio’s modernist golden age: light-toned wood, polished stone, and museum- quality furnishings by Brazil’s top designers. The main floor restaurant is backdropped by an orchid-studded living wall—the perfect setting for the best brunch in the city. Among the other amenities are a comfortable lounge, seafood restaurant, rooftop swimming pool and sundeck, full-service spa, and 24-hour fitness center. Beach service is provided, with chairs, umbrellas, and drink service. The 90 soothing guestrooms feature with crisp linens, contemporary décor, marble, and natural wood. Some upper category rooms have large windows or private balconies overlooking Avenida Atlantica and the Copacabana sand. Each guestroom is furnished with security box, mini-bar, bathrobes, beach sandals, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi. Great looks and amenities aside, what really sets Emiliano apart is natural hospitality—the genuine warmth and care offered by its staff.

RESERVA DO IBITIPOCA

Reserva do Ibitipoca is a boutique hotel set within a 9,800-acre private reserve. The main building, Fazenda do Engenho, was originally a farmhouse dating to 1715. Reconstructed in 2006, the house now includes eight spacious suites, a library, dining room, and al fresco bar. Neighboring buildings contain the spa, yoga studio, sauna, and hydro-massage pool. Organic gardens, pasture, and a mirror-smooth pond frame the estate.

Guests can explore the reserve’s forests, grasslands, mountains, and waterfalls either on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback (riding carries an additional charge). The stable houses a dozen Mangalarga and Anglo-Arabian horses. Throughout the property, you’ll find colorful wildlife, hidden sculptures, orchards, and river beaches. Your accomodation package includes three daily meals and two hiking tours within the property per day.
