Day 1: BOGOTA

Arrive at the international airport in Bogotá, Colombia (BOG). Flight arrangements made independently.
Upon arrival, airport reception outside the luggage claim area and private transfer to Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina. This transfer takes approximately one hour.
Check in for a three-night stay at Four Seasons Casa Medina (one double-occupancy Grand Premier King). Day at leisure in Bogota.

Day 2: BOGOTA

Breakfast at Four Seasons Casa Medina
Depart for a privately guided tour of the city. This tour includes a visit to the Candelaria neighborhood—the country’s finest collection of colonial and neoclassical architecture. The quarter's historic houses (or casonas) are characterized by iron- grated windows, monumental wooden doors, ornate balconies, and introverted gardens. At the center of it all is Plaza de Bolivar, anchored by the 16th century Cathedral Primada de Colombia with its twin bell towers. Flanking the plaza are the Palace of Justice and the National Capitol, which bear traces of renaissance and neoclassical lineage. Next stop, visit the Museo del Oro. The collection includes more than 34,000 pre-Columbian gold objects and another 20,000 stone, ceramic, textile, and precious stone artifacts. Last, visit Monserrate. The trip to the top can be made either by aerial tramway (approximately five minutes) or by glass-roofed funicular. Near the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, and learn about the significance of the hilltop sanctuary and its sacred images.

Day 4: BOGOTA TO CARTAGENA

Departure by private transportation to Bogota airport (BOG) for your flight to Cartagena (CTG). Flight arrangements made independently.

Day 5: CARTAGENA TO CARTAGENA

Leave Cartagena by privately chartered powerboat for a privately guided day trip to the Rosario Islands archipelago. The trip to these islands takes approximately two hours. You can spend today swimming and snorkeling in the clear blue waters, observing a rainbow of colorful fish and other sea life. This day trip includes round trip port transportation, port taxes, English-speaking guide, private motorboat, picnic lunch, non-alcoholic beverages, towels, and snorkeling equipment. Alcohol can be added for an additional fee.

Day 6: CARTAGENA

Morning departure for a privately guided visit the Totumo Volcano. Located approximately 40 minutes from Cartagena, this bizarre attraction is an “only in Colombia” experience—one for good sports only. Upon arrival at car park, you’ll be led up a ramshackle staircase and immersed in the crater of what looks like a giant anthill. You’ll float in the mud that fills the crater, while a local slathers your arms, back, and legs with the cool mud. Afterward, you’ll head to the lakeshore for a vigorous rinsing by the local ladies. Bring swimwear, towels, water shoes or river sandals, drinking water, sunscreen, a camera, and approximately 10,000 pesos per person for obligatory “tips”.

Day 7: CARTAGENA

Departure for a private guided tour in Cartagena. Cartagena has what may be the Americas' finest collection of colonial architecture; frosted spires and pastel-hued domes soar above balconied façades and narrow, cobblestone streets. Restoration accelerated after 1984, when UNESCO granted the city World Heritage status. The palm-shaded plazas, open-air cafes, and photogenic side streets quickly enchant visitors. The walking portion of this tour will last approximately three hours.
