Lake Powell Getaway

North America > USA

Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area are located on the border of Utah and Arizona. The lake is the second largest man-made lake in the U.S. and is contained by Glen Canyon Dam. The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area contains the whole of Lake Powell and extends down the Colorado River all the way to the beginning of the Grand Canyon. This park covers over 1.2 million acres of land, much of which is very isolated from normal foot traffic, and provides an incredible playground for adventures ranging from boating on the lake to hiking the surrounding shoreline to heading through canyons down on to the Colorado River.
